Professional Profile

Tyler Jones joined LeSourd & Patten, P.S. as an associate in 2014 after graduating cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington. While at Seattle University, Tyler earned the school’s President’s Scholarship for all three years. During law school, he focused on tax law, estate planning, and business law, and was active in the school’s moot court program, advancing to a national competition, as well as being elected to the National Order of Barristers. Most recently, Tyler received an LL.M. degree in taxation from the University of Washington School of Law.

Tyler’s practice consists primarily of IRS controversies, including, but not limited to, tax collection matters, penalty abatements, challenging IRS audits, challenging Trust Fund Recovery Penalty assessments, innocent spouse relief matters, representing non-filers, and resolving transactional business and estate planning issues.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Jones is an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University’s Graduate Tax Program in Seattle, where he teaches classes on estate and gift taxation.
